Bullet Plane?

Postby The Devils Bank » Fri Jun 26, 2020 6:37 pm

Not sure on this, just "found it" in a back room cubby-hole

No idea where it's from or how I got it? :-??

I take it that it's trench art of some kind.. quite a odd looking thing.

Quite like it though..

Any ideas?

I'm looking at this and thinking is it some kind of bird scarer you'd mount on a pole on your vegetable patch and the propeller would spin to scare off the birds? It may have had a tail piece fitted in the bullet nose. Could have been a weather vane but no North or South indicator unless there was another part to it?

Possibly an area drop from the First World War. Would make a "noice" and hurt the target.

I do think it's a piece of trench art, and I have some body lined up to make a tail plane for me.

Should be a interesting restoration..
